Letter To A Loved One

Dear Loved One,

Hello there. It's been a long time since I've spoken with you. I hope your life is going well and that you're getting closer to acheiving all your life dreams you have day-by-day. We had many fun times talking about each other's dreams for the future. I always appreciated the way we shared. You always knew just the right way to make me feel special. I kind of miss that, but I'm thankful it ever happened at all.

I know it's been awhile... And you may have forgotten about me. You may have forgotten what we used to do together, but I sure don't. You had such a big impact on my life, and I'm so glad a Higher Power brought you along right when I needed you quite a few years ago and so blessed I was to have you stick by me until that one big day. You may not know it, but you were a rock in my life and you were my favourite rock. When everything else went crazy, I could count on you to be there and make me smile. I hope everyone in the world gets to have something as special as what I had when you came around.

You've taught me so much in the small amount of years we've known each other. You taught me how to smile again. You taught me how to stay brave in hard times. You taught me the rock and roll ways of normal life. That was fun! You were my rockstar, and I was very happy to have a rockstar as a friend for all those years. Someone in the world who thought the same way I did was something very special to me.

The best thing you taught me, though, was how to trust again. When you first came around I was like an abused puppy. Scared, beaten, afraid, and untrusting of the kind who hurt me. But you took it slow. You eased in and promised not to hurt me. And for once in so long, someone had finally kept their word.

I thought you hurt me when you went away, but I see now that the "reason, season and lifetime" where I was to have you around has come and gone. You knew it before I did. I now know the reason, remember the season, and will carry your memory for a lifetime.

If we ever cross paths again, I hope you remember little ole me. I hope you smile back to me when I wave. I hope somehow I made a difference in your life, too.

Thank you for everything you've given to me. You brought hope for a brighter tomorrow into my life. Who knows if I would have even survived all those years if you hadn't come into my life?

One thing is sure. You are and always will be my favourite rockstar.

Thanks for listening to everything I had to say. You were a strong shoulder to lean on. I wanted to be there for you, too, but we just couldn't meet in the middle. But that's okay. You still changed my life, anyways.

Thank you for being real. Thank you for affecting my life in the most positive way.
Thank you for everything.
Thank you for being.

Sincerely,
-Amanda.
